    # EBSCO FOLIO Apps and Features

FOLIO is designed from the ground up as an open platform. Selected apps can be deployed in order to create a highly customized solution. With this modular focus, the library can choose which apps to include or exclude, as desired. FOLIO applications are designed to “snap-in” and easily connect to each other, allowing for libraries to create customized workflows and systems in their FOLIO environment.

[EBSCO FOLIO](/academic-libraries/products/ebsco-folio "EBSCO FOLIO") functionality includes apps that are made available through the FOLIO community project as well as apps that are unique to your EBSCO FOLIO implementation.

## FOLIO Apps

Apps for FOLIO cover traditional library management functionality and more. Examples include:

**Circulation** — apps to manage check in / check out of materials, view circulation reports, manage course reserves, and circulation requests

**Acquisitions** — apps to manage orders, invoices and financials as well the receipt of materials

**Cataloging** — apps to manage and update records, manage inventory and data import / export

**E-resources management** — apps to manage agreements, view analytics and manage the library’s eHoldings

**Administration** — apps to manage an institutional calendar, document information on organizations such as vendors or consortia libraries, and manage users in the system

[**Panorama**](/products/panorama "Panorama — Insights Through Analytics") — an analytics app included with EBSCO FOLIO that features a central dashboard to collect, manipulate and display data about the library and users

**Tasks** — an app for users to structure and search tasks at various levels, view and sort tasks, record their progress and keep updated on their work
