Serials pricing was driven largely by a higher demand for e-journal packages and some libraries were still recovering from the aftereffects of the pandemic. As we look ahead to 2025, there is a similar demand for e-journals compared to print and pricing continues to reflect broader economic challenges from region to region. Like many sectors around the world, the publishing space is facing inflationary pressures tied to production, operation and delivery costs. So what can institutions expect for the year ahead? For institutions that are trying to budget for the upcoming year, there are new things to consider. Every year, we survey publishers and analyze pricing data to provide informed price projections. This report highlights price changes across the different serials formats, the impact of exchange rates on pricing, as well as both economic and industry trends to consider when making purchasing decisions.
