A recent [2022 Materials Survey](https://www.libraryjournal.com/story/Collection-Rebalance-2022-Materials-Survey) conducted by Library Journal painted a picture of a new hybrid model of book acquisition for libraries. Some libraries reported a shift back to print in 2021 and some reported an increase in e-book readers. The survey also showed material spending has leveled out from the pandemic as libraries continue to find their own unique balance of offering print or digital book options. On top of these developments, library staff are also finding that patron interests are shifting creating the need to diversify collections.

The team of collection development librarians at EBSCO is committed to creating and updating e-book collections to help libraries meet the demand for diverse, digital resources.
