As you drive north on Interstate 77, nearly 50 miles from the bottom of the county to the northern border, the landscape becomes increasingly rural. “Our programming is different at those locations,” explains Juli, Library Director at ICPL. “The population they serve, what works at each location is different. That's always a challenge." [Iredell County Public Library](https://www.iredell.lib.nc.us/) in North Carolina serves a population of about 145,000 with three physical branches and a digital library. A mobile library is planned for launch in June 2025. Juli came to the library in 2005 and became its director in 2018. She works with Jenny Levins-Hertel, who spent a year and a half as a library assistant and then took over the library’s program development and community engagement coordination in 2019. Just a few weeks ago, on a sunny Friday afternoon, Juli and Jenny shared a Zoom screen and their praise for the library-specific promotional tool, LibraryAware, which they’ve used for a decade.
