  #   Our Recommendations

Do you know where your recommendations come from? You don’t have to worry about that with NoveList. We have hand-crafted recommendations created by book experts. We know exactly where our recommendations come from — and they’re pretty smart people.

### Our Process

Our experts evaluate and write recommendations, crafting them by hand. We do as many of those as we possibly can, but we also have a very sophisticated algorithm that considers subjects, genres, and our signature appeal terms.

### By Librarians, For Librarians

### Elements of a Good Recommendation

We believe the main element of a good recommendation is trust. For three decades now, libraries have trusted NoveList to provide great reading recommendations for thousands of titles. Our signature read-alikes, extensive tagging by experts, and story elements like appeal, genre, and theme result in the best reading suggestions available.
