# Erin DeCoeur

  Senior Readers' Advisory Librarian

Erin managed a used book bookstore (in an airport!) and worked as an adult services librarian with Wake County Public Libraries before coming to NoveList in 2026. Her professional passions include providing inclusive readers’ advisory and creating and elevating virtual programming. Her nonprofessional passions include her cat and dog and planning for her next visit to Prince Edward Island and her first visit to Scotland.

If a book captures Erin’s attention, she's willing to follow it almost anywhere. Historical fiction and psychological suspense have long been favorites, and she's always eager to pick up a well-crafted witchy read. Whether exploring another era, culture, life experience, or extraordinary event, Erin enjoys books that provide both an escape and a window into worlds she might not otherwise encounter. She leans toward immersive stories with strong world-building, vivid characters, and a compelling sense of place.

Favorite Childhood Books: Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery; The Changeling by Zilpha Keatley Snyder, Behind the Attic Wall by Sylvia Cassedy

Favorite current authors: Diana Gabaldon, Simone St. James, Riley Sager, Ann Patchett, Nora Roberts, Maeve Binchy, Edward Rutherfurd

Standouts she’ll always recommend: Perfume by Patrick Suskind, Lark Ascending by Silas House, The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell (and its sequel, Children of God)
