Starting with stories of the early church leaders, such as Paul of Tarsus, the collection moves through history to the story of the 19th century as told through the lives of leading thinkers such as Friedrich Schleiermacher, Dwight Moody and Arthur Schopenhauer.

While English is the predominant language in the collection, it represents 18 other languages including German, French, Russian and Japanese.
