April Mazza develops and teaches course curriculum for Learn with NoveList. Before joining NoveList, she worked in public, school, and special libraries. In addition to reviewing youth materials for library journals, she has served on both the Sibert Informational Book Medal Committee and the Newbery Medal Committee.
Growing up, April loved reading folk and fairy tales. Today, her reading spans formats and genres, from immersive audiobooks to graphic novels, science fiction, mysteries, and darkly humorous stories. In her free time, she enjoys testing recipes for America's Test Kitchen, knitting, watercolor painting, and exploring new creative projects. She's happiest near the ocean, whether swimming, relaxing on the beach, or simply enjoying the view.
