Cathleen spends her days wrangling metadata, digging into NoveList's reading-focused taxonomies, and investigating whatever mysteries the data has decided to serve up. She especially enjoys projects that don't come with an obvious roadmap: where she can follow the data, test a few hunches, and figure out how to make our metadata work better.
Cathleen’s first readers' advisory job was working at a video store, which explains a lot. Her favorite book as a kid was Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, by Alvin Schwartz, and she still likes her fiction on the darker and stranger side, especially body horror and themes like found footage and vengeance is mine.
When she's not working or reading, you're most likely to find her mining the depth of Tubi for oddball gems from the '70s and '80s, catching a retro double feature, or collection art despite a dwindling supply of wall space.
