Hi again! Thanks so much to everyone who’s been sharing feedback about the updated NoveList experience. In my June post, The Story That Never Ends, I talked about how your input helps us co-create the future of NoveList, and it’s true! Your voice helps shape what comes next, and we’re so grateful you’re part of this journey.
This is the second post in our “Your Voices Heard” series. If you missed the first one, you can catch up here.
Quick Recap: Top 5 Themes from Your Feedback
Here’s what we’ve been hearing most often:
- Local collections matter, and many of you didn’t know you could connect your library’s collection to NoveList. We covered that in this post.
- Curated Lists are a hit, especially our “For Fans Of” lists. You want easier ways to browse them. That’s today’s theme!
- Story Elements are beloved but harder to navigate in the new design. Improvements are on the way.
- The new design is sleek and mobile-friendly, but there are still parts of the overall design that could be improved. We’re making adjustments.
- Printing and sharing features are essential, and you’d love even more functionality. We’re working on it!
Spotlight on: Curated Lists
Curated Lists came up a lot in your feedback, and mostly with big love! One user said: “I’m digging in deep to the curated lists and learning about the various options there — will definitely be using the ‘For Fans Of’ lists!”
We love hearing that! These lists are designed to make your life easier and your reading richer. Here’s what makes them special:
- Uniqueness: We spotlight niche reading experiences you won’t find in typical searches. Check out the “Custom Blends” category for some gems.
- Trendiness: We help readers connect with what’s hot right now, and that’s the magic behind “Trending Now” and “For Fans Of.”
- Inclusivity: We’re intentional about making our lists inclusive and regularly updated.
- Speed + Quality: Need a list fast? These are curated by expert librarians and book specialists, so you can trust them.
Each list includes an average of 20 titles and is perfect for:
- Quick readers’ advisory
- Inspiring your next book display
- Creating handout-ready reading lists
How to Find and Use Curated Lists
You can find Curated Lists in a few places:
- Left menu: Under “Curated Lists,” you’ll find categories to explore.
- Home page: The middle section features recently updated lists now randomized, so you’ll always see something fresh.
- Search box: Know what you want? Try searching DE For Fans Of to pull up all lists in that category.
Want to see it in action? Here’s a quick video walkthrough.

What’s Next for Curated Lists
We’re so excited about what’s coming next:
- More “For Fans Of” lists: Nearly double the number we had before! Some will be brand new, and some will be beloved favorites from our archives. Get excited for new lists such as For Fans of K-Pop and For Fans of Labubu.
- More context about lists: We’ll be adding descriptions that tell you who curated each list and why it’s special.
- Better browsing of lists: We heard you loud and clear about wanting fewer clicks and easier navigation to lists. We’ve got ideas and are working on solutions!
