The Pew Research Center’s latest survey on streaming services revealed a trend that may or may not surprise you. 83% of U.S. adults use streaming services — in fact, a recent Nielsen report indicates that streaming has now eclipsed broadcast and cable usage combined.
Between traditional television, theatrical releases, social media, and a seemingly limitless number of streaming channels (my household subscribes to more than I care to admit), it’s never been easier to be a fan of, well… just about anything! But what happens when the screen fades to black? You can take advantage of popular and trending shows to draw readers to your library.
Where fandom meets readers’ advisory
We here at NoveList pride ourselves on our fan-ish tendencies — it’s why we’ve created features like the Fandemonium! theme and the bimonthly Page to Screen NextReads newsletter. It’s also why we offer one of our most popular resources, the ever-evolving For Fans Of curated lists. Available for all reading levels, For Fans Of lists contain books that appeal to lovers of trending movies, TV shows, and other pop culture happenings.
When your binge-watching marathon ends and the next season is still a year (or more!) away, For Fans Of lists are a perfect way to find your next great read. I personally can’t get enough of the lightning-in-a-bottle hockey romance Heated Rivalry and award-winning medical drama The Pitt, so I know I can check out those series’ For Fans Of lists if I’m looking for more steamy sports romances or real-time stories with ensemble casts.
Excited about the new season of Bridgerton? Lamenting the end of Stranger Things? We’ve got lists for those, too!
