Mosaic is EBSCO’s new book acquisition platform designed to support modern library purchasing workflows. In this video, you'll see how selector workflows make it easier for selectors and acquisitions teams to collaborate throughout the selection and ordering process. As a selector, I'm able to select an item immediately through my search results here. I can add and edit my order details. I can submit for approval or I can finish later. I do not have access to the cart as a selector to ensure I don't accidentally make a purchase I'm not allowed to. 

We'll go over to the selections page. In Mosaic, we do not have the concept of a select cart. Instead, we have a one-stop shop for selections. On this selections page, I'm able to track all of my selections as a selector throughout the various states: not yet submitted, which is our draft selection state, selected, approved, rejected, and if one of my selections have been ordered, I would also see that here as well. I'm able to take corrective action. So for my draft selections I can change the purchase option, I can change the order profile associated and of course add or edit order details.

And then we'll just pause for a second so that I can log out and log in to my acquisitions one.

As an acquisitions or admin staff member, I'm able to see all of the selections at the institution level. I am also able to again take corrective action to account for real-life experience. If I need to change a purchase option because new information has come up, I'm able to do that without needing to reject the selection and starting from scratch. Again, I’m able to change the order profile associated, and then I can of course add or edit my order details as well. 

I have additional filters as admin or acquisitions to account for my role. So if I need to filter through for specific selectors because I'm responsible for that group, I'm able to do so in addition to other filters as well.

One of the most exciting pieces with this new selection workflow is ability to enter comments. This allows you to communicate directly in platform to facilitate decision making. So on a selection you can ask questions to get the information you need to make that decision, and both selectors and acquisitions are able to submit comments throughout any process of the flow. 

In Mosaic, we also support the ability to take bulk or individual actions so you're able to, in bulk, edit order details, submit, add to cart, reject, or approve items. So when you approve an item, you're able to either add that item individually to your cart or in bulk. We have also modified the cart to support a greater cart limit. We've gone from 50 to 250 to support this Mosaic workflow.
