Saudi Arabia, Middle East & North Africa — June 22, 2026 — EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) announces that the Prince Mohammed bin Salman College of Business and Entrepreneurship (MBSC) Library has selected EBSCO FOLIO as its library services platform. By implementing FOLIO, MBSC Library has established a unified system for managing print and electronic resources, improving operational efficiency and supporting the institution’s commitment to providing a world-class research environment.
Located in Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman College of Business and Entrepreneurship (MBSC) is dedicated to developing future business leaders through innovative education and entrepreneurship-focused programs. To support its growing academic and research needs, MBSC sought a modern library platform capable of integrating workflows, improving interoperability and providing the flexibility required for future growth.
MBSC selected FOLIO because of its modern microservices architecture, open-source framework and robust APIs, which enable seamless integration across library systems. The platform's flexibility and scalability allow the library to manage print and electronic resources within a single environment while supporting evolving institutional requirements.
"At Prince Mohammed bin Salman College of Business and Entrepreneurship (MBSC), our goal is to provide a seamless, world-class research environment," said Filoteo Franco, Librarian, MBSC. "We chose FOLIO because its modern, open-source architecture breaks down the silos between print and electronic resource management, providing the interoperability and scalability we need for the future. Beyond the platform's technological advantages, the FOLIO training team was absolutely instrumental to our success. Their exceptional diligence during the onboarding process and their deeply comprehensive, step-by-step training sessions ensured our team was fully prepared. Because they properly addressed every aspect of the system, we have experienced completely flawless operations since our go-live in September 2023."
Prior to implementing FOLIO, MBSC aimed to eliminate workflow silos and technical delays created by fragmented legacy systems. FOLIO's app-based ecosystem addressed these challenges by centralizing library operations within a single interface, enabling staff to work more efficiently and effectively.
A key contributor to the successful implementation was the EBSCO FOLIO training team, which delivered comprehensive training tailored to MBSC's workflows. The training sessions provided in-depth guidance on all aspects of the platform, helping library staff gain confidence and ensuring a smooth transition to the new system.
"MBSC's commitment to innovation and excellence aligns well with the flexibility and openness that FOLIO provides," said Ahmed Komsan, Regional Sales Director, EBSCO. "We are pleased to support the MBSC Library team as they continue to enhance library services and provide an outstanding experience for their students, faculty and researchers.”
MBSC successfully went live with FOLIO in September 2023 and has experienced stable, reliable operations since implementation. Through EBSCO's hosting and support services, the library benefits from a single point of contact for ongoing assistance and platform management.
