Alfonso Iorio, MD, PhD is Deputy Editor of the Systematic Literature Surveillance (SLS) Team at DynaMed. He is Full Professor of Clinical Epidemiology and Medicine at McMaster University in Canada, with teaching responsibilities in evidence-based medicine and limited-time clinical responsibility. Before immigrating to Canada in 2010, he was assistant professor of Medicine at the University of Perugia, Italy, when he performed his medical education.

Dr Iorio is the lead of the Health Information Research Unit at McMaster, a knowledge refinery powering the American College of Physician Journal Club section of Annals of Internal Medicine, and a longstanding partner of EBSCO. Dr Iorio is a member of the GRADE working group, a former Cochrane Collaboration Associate Editor and has published widely on various topics in the realm of clinical epidemiology. He sat on the Guideline Oversight Committee of the American Society of Hematology and the Clinical Guideline Committee of the American College of Physicians. He has been clinical advisor of national and international patient organizations in the field of congenital clotting and bleeding disorders and pain.
