We understand that administrators often face challenges when trying to quickly find specific settings that impact the user experience. To help with this, we're adding a search bar to EBSCO Configuration. In addition to being able to search for customization options, the search results will include links to EBSCO Connect.
Image and audio collections will be enabled on EBSCO Research databases
EBSCO Discovery Service will support the Advanced Results Page, which previously released only for EBSCOhost. When enabled through a setting in the Configuration module of EBSCO Experience Manager, users that run searches from the Advanced Search page will land on a results page that has the 3+ guided style search boxes and a new and improved design for Search History (session based).
Publication Finder and the Full Text Finder Link Resolver will both offer the ability to either use the browser locale to control the language of the UI or administrator set default languages via EBSCO Experience Manager > Configuration. Both interfaces will add the ability for end-users to change the language of the UI via a new language selection menu and administrators will be able to define a secondary official language that will be available via the new language selection menu
Based on feedback from beta group testers, we are making several design updates to our People Pages. Key statistics and top co-author sections will move higher up on the page to improve user access. Researcher disciplines and topics and author names will be links that execute a new search on that concept.
EBSCO is adopting a new Digital Rights Management (DRM) solution for EBSCO eBooks, Readium LCP DRM, offered by EDRLab. This will bring significant benefits to publishers, libraries, and their patrons, enhancing the overall user experience and ensuring better content protection. This will eliminate the need for users to use Adobe Digital Editions and provide them with an accessible and modern offline reading experience with Thorium Reader, also offered by EDRLab.
Increasing the size of an interactive element within the ‘bulk actions’ toolset to 24x24 px to meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards Note: this is a new WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria
‘Toast’ messages will meet standards by being persistent (user dismissed) and will be used for system error messages only.
The Holdings and Link Management user interface will be re-designed to align with WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards, ensuring all users have a highly accessible, usable and efficient experience to maintain their e-resource collections and Full Text Finder link configurations.
EBSCO is enhancing search and journal alerts by enabling multiple designated email recipients. Alert creators will soon be able to add up to fifty (50) email addresses per alert. Recipient emails will also include an unsubscribe option, allowing individuals to opt out of a specific alert at any time.
